Original Press Release:

New York Wire Introduces New & Improved Flame Resistant Pet Screen

Grand Island, NY – New York Wire’s Pet Resistant screen is already well known for being an ultra-strong screening option that will resist tears and damage by cats and dogs, but now it’s the safest choice because it meets the ASTM standards for flame resistance.

New York Wire’s pet resistant screen is now the only flame resistant pet screen on the market.  The manufacturing process and technology we use provides us with the ability to include a flame retardant coating on the screen.  New York Wire Pet screen was tested and passed the following ASTM requirements to be considered flame resistant: ASTM D3656 and ASTM D6413.  These tests measured the flame time, flame height and char length on the screen during and after removal of a flame source. You can visit our web site at www.newyorkwire.com to view the tests that were completed using ISO 11925-2 testing standards.

Manufactured from heavy-duty polyester yarns, pet resistant screen is much heavier than traditional screening and can be used in any door or window.  While pet resistant screen prevents damage from household pets it still allows for excellent outward visibility and airflow.  Pet resistant screen is also ideal for areas where pets or children push against the screening because the polyester yarns tolerate some stretching.  Pet resistant screen is the ideal choice for those looking for a smart solution because they repeatedly have to replace their screens due to damage from pets.

Pet resistant screen is available in 36” and 48” widths in both 7’ and 100’ roll lengths.  For more information on the New York Wire line of products or to get tips on how to install / replace insect screen in your windows or doors please visit www.newyorkwire.com where you will find product information along with step-by-step how-to videos.
