Company to guarantee supply of fido(TM) microcontrollers until at least 2020
ALBUQUERQUE, NM, May 14, 2007 - Innovasic Semiconductor, a leader in long life-cycle semiconductor solutions, today announced that it is guaranteeing production of its fido (flexible input deterministic output) microcontroller family until at least 2020. This guarantee is expected to be most important to companies that supply embedded control and communications products that are available for long periods of time or are not frequently redesigned.

This guarantee is the first of its kind in the industry, providing vendors of long lifecycle products with relief from End of Life notices. According to a previous survey by Electronics Weekly, two-thirds of designers had experienced difficulties with components going obsolete in the previous six months. Additionally, in a survey conducted by Innovasic, 81 percent of engineers identified obsolescence one of their top three when choosing a new microcontroller for their design.
