Inline Fluxer features intelligent, selective operation.

Press Release Summary:

Able to handle PCBs up to 18 x 24 in., KISS-104F enables fluxing of only those specific components to be selectively soldered. Board enters on edge conveyor (SMEMA), located in known position, and flux is applied via X-Y motion under programmable control. Standard aerosol flux applicator has deposition range of 4-25 mm, and optional drop-jet applicator offers dot size down to 1.5 mm. Configurations support multiple applicators to apply mixed flux chemistry on demand.

ACE Launches 104-F "Intelligent" Selective Fluxing System

Spokane Valley, Washington, USA - ACE Production Technologies, Inc. announces the introduction of The KISS-104F in-line fluxer, an intelligent fluxing system that enables the fluxing of only the specific components to be selectively soldered.

In making the announcement, Al Cable, President, said "Customary in-line spray fluxers apply flux to a PCB just as it enters the soldering process, and as such are non-intelligent. The flux nozzle simply oscillates under the board as it passes overhead. Usually, the flux covers the entire bottom side of the board, including carriers and protective pallets. In our new KISS-104F system, the board enters on the edge conveyor (SMEMA), located in a known position and the flux is applied via X-Y motion under programmable control. The board proceeds to the next station, perhaps the in-line pre-heater module, or directly into the KISS-104 for the selective soldering process."

The new KISS-104F is a high speed Inline "Selective Fluxing" system which, working in conjunction with the KISS 104 Selective Soldering system, will reach all areas of a PCB panel up to 18" x 24" in size. It features a standard precision aerosol flux applicator with a deposition range between 4 through 25 mm; an optional drop-jet applicator with dot size down to 1.5mm. The KISS-104F can be configured with multiple applicators to apply mixed flux chemistry on demand. Options include an airless drop jet fluxing system, multiple nozzles, and more. It accepts all conventional flux chemistries, can be used in-line with wave soldering equipment, and provides absolute programmable control over the fluxing process.

ACE Production Technologies is a designer and builder of simple, affordable selective soldering systems suitable for lead-free electronics assembly. ACE's line of rugged, reliable selective soldering systems includes the KISS 101, KISS-102, KISS-103, and the KISS-104 models. All of these flexible systems feature lead-free compatible solder pots and are ideal for low to medium volume assembly, prototyping, and rework, post-reflow offline assembly, and other soldering applications such as odd-form devices.
