Original Press Release:

Brother(TM) Announces Revolutionary High-Speed Inkjet-Based Workgroup Printer

The HL-S7000DN changes the face of professional printing with black printing at up to 100ppm, at less than a penny per page(2), while using significantly less energy than conventional office printers.

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. -- Brother International Corporation, today announced the availability in the USA of the HL-S7000DN, a breakthrough, high-speed, inkjet-based workgroup printer.

Designed to offer medium and large working groups an ultra-fast, highly energy-efficient alternative to office laser printers, the HL-S7000DN helps boost productivity by producing high-quality black output at the astonishing rate of up to 100ppm, thanks to its innovative page-wide Brother SmartArray((TM)) print technology. Organizations using the HL-S7000DN can also help reduce their environmental impact due to its Cold Process Print System that uses up to 66% less energy than conventional office laser printers.(1)

Not only does the HL-S7000DN help workgroups save time and energy, it helps them save money by printing at a cost of less than one cent per page using its super high-yield replacement ink cartridge.(2) For applications in which ensuring the longevity of documents may be a concern, the HL-S7000DN's ink supply is ISO-11798 certified, allowing it to meet the ISO standard for archiving when using permanent or archival paper.

With its incredible speed, energy efficiency and low printing costs, the HL-S7000DN is an ideal alternative to or replacement for either single or multiple office devices. Workgroups can leverage versatile networking capabilities, a centralized deployment strategy and web-based management tools to help increase productivity while simultaneously decreasing their print fleet size and expenditures. The HL-S7000DN also supports an open interface software development platform that permits integration with third party advanced cost recovery and security features.

The HL-S7000DN offers multiple configurations to accommodate varying levels of printing demand. It ships with a standard-issue 600-sheet input that can be expanded to hold up to 2,100 sheets via three optional 500-sheet trays.(3)

"With the introduction of the HL-S7000DN, Brother has created a unique and innovative output solution for workgroups and offices," said Jeff Sandler, Brother Director of Inkjet Product Planning. "For organizations that demand a reliable method of producing short bursts of high-speed printing, there's simply nothing on the market that compares," he added. "When you factor in its low operating costs and low power consumption, as well as its flexible and expandable design, the HL-S7000DN stands in a class of its own."
