Markem Introduces New Ink for Its Small and Large Character Ink Jet Printers

Keene, N.H. (November 3, 2002) -- Capitalizing on the company's extensive history of innovation in the development of inks, MARKEM Corporation, a leading provider of identification systems, software, supplies and services for product coding and marking, has added a new ink to its Touch Dry® family.

The 5005 Series Touch Dry ink is a hot melt ink for use in MARKEM's 5200, 5200SC and 5400 ink jet printers. As with other members of the Touch Dry ink family, the 5005 ink dries on contact with the substrate providing a sharp, crisp print that never weeps, as well as a high definition code.

The addition of the 5005 ink, available in black, allows coders to print much faster than previously possible while still printing a high quality code. Other advantages include superior darkness even at low-density settings, very good smudge and abrasion resistance as well as very good package-to-package offset resistance.

The 5005 ink is another element of the "Intelligent Coding" philosophy, under which MARKEM provides a broad range of networked digital ink jet, laser, thermal transfer and print-and-apply products, software, supplies and services.

MARKEM Corporation is a leading worldwide provider of product identification equipment, software, supplies and services for marking and coding, in industries including food and beverage, wide format graphics, pharmaceutical, and electronics. MARKEM operates from headquarters in Keene, New Hampshire, and has additional development and manufacturing facilities in San Diego, California and Nottingham, England with subsidiary companies and agents and representatives in over 50 countries.
