REP Offers Injection Presses Specifically Designed for Thermoplastic Elastomers(TPE's) and Thermoplastic Rubbers (TPR's)
REP, long-time leader in injection presses for rubber, liquid silicone and other compounds, offers a compact, competitively-priced machine specially designed for molding today's thermoplastic elastomers and thermoplastic rubbers.
These REP presses, in standard units with 4-1/2 oz. shot capacity, 30-ton clamp, 300 mm x 300 mm (11.81" x 11.81") mm platens and with available 3-sided access on some models, plus the company's recognized controls onboard, can be used to run
conventional compounds, as well.
As shown in the photo, REP presses for TPE/TPR molding are furnished with an integral input hopper for loading granulated or pelletized raw materials directly to the extruder screw intake. On the smaller injection head units, an additional cylinder has been added to mix the materials at a variable frequency to ensure complete screw chamber fill. Unique to REP is the separation of the pre-plasticizing and injection functions. Additionally, on some models, hot oil control has been replaced with electric band heaters, which heat the injection unit to 250°C (452°F) with independent multi-zone control. REP TPE/TPR injection units are more compact than comparable plastic injection press units.
