Injection Molding Machine is offered in 1,125 ton version.

Press Release Summary:

Powerline 1125 employs wide-platen configuration to accommodate multi-cavity molds and large parts, while 50 in./sec clamp speed and pre-inject capability reduce cycle times. With 2-stage injection unit with maximum shot of 220 oz, unit is available in 70 and 120 mm feedscrew diameters. Maximum injection pressure is 35,000 psi. Direct-connected, rack-and-pinion clamp drive has 31 in. stroke length and machine noise level of 68 dBA. Machine builds full tonnage in 4.3 sec.

Original Press Release:

Milacron Expands Range of its Energy-Efficient Powerline All-Electric IMMs with New Wide-Platen 1125-ton Version for Large-Part and Multi-Cavity Production

April 2003 - Milacron continues its drive to developing higher-tonnage, all-electric injection molding machines, announcing at NPE a new 1125-ton version of its proven Powerline IMM. The biggest member of the Powerline family, the 1125-ton machine brings 60% energy savings and proven repeatability to large-part production, and offers distinct design advantages for molding products in the automotive, appliance and housewares industries. Its wide-platen configuration accommodates multi-cavity molds and large parts, while fast clamp speed and pre-inject capability reduce cycle times.

The 1125-ton Powerline features Milacron's patented two-stage injection unit with a maximum shot of 220 oz, combining economical large-shot capability with exceptional repeatability. It is available in 70 and 120 mm feedscrew diameters. Maximum injection pressure is 35,000 psi.

The direct-connected, rack-and-pinion clamp drive is exceptionally quiet and responsive, with a long stroke length of 31 in. and machine noise level of just 68 dBA. Clamp speed is a fast 50 in./sec. and Euromap dry cycle time is 4.9 sec. The machine builds full tonnage in 4.3 sec., but allows injection to begin before full tonnage is reached to cut cycle times and improve throughput. Cycle times are also improved by allowing pre-decompression, relaxing the toggle during part cooling to eliminate the wait on tonnage release before opening the clamp.

Tie bar spacing is 1550 mm wide x 1200 mm tall, with a low-base design that permits operators to remove parts from any of three directions and contributes to overall ease of application interface. The low base allows machine operators and set-up personnel easy access to tooling during mold set-up and production. The Powerline 1125-ton base and wide platens also accommodate robot applications in low bays, without interfering with overhead cranes. High-base options are available where free-drop is preferred.

The Powerline 1125 comes standard with Milacron's patented PC-based, open-architecture XTREEM(TM) control. The XTREEM control brings Ethernet networking, English/multiple languages, and full-color screens to the molding floor in its standard ST configuration. In the optional NT version of the control, it becomes a Windows® NT personal computer, capable of running the Microsoft Internet Explorer® suite of software, digital photography, video, and a host of other capabilities that PC users take for granted.
