Injection Machine molds liquid silicone rubber.

Press Release Summary:

For use with strip-fed rubber compounds and LSR, press offers onboard proprietary REP G8 controls and pumping/mixing station. Molds can be interchanged, and injection nozzle can be furnished with or without cold runner block valve adaptations. Press has 25 oz. shot capacity, 175-ton clamp force, and 16.93 x 20.08 in. platens. LSR shot can be delivered to mold cavity at approximately 1/3 pressure required for conventional elastomers.

Original Press Release:

REP Offers Injection Machine for Molding Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR)

REP, the longtime leader in injection presses for rubber, thermoplastic elastomers and other compounds, offers a machine specifically designed for molding liquid silicone rubber (LSR). Because of this press' unique design, it can be used for conventional strip-fed rubber compounds, as well.

LSR is used in many industries for numerous applications today, owing to its short molding cycle and other cost-saving factors for the molder. These factors drove the design of this REP press, from the outset.

The REP LSR machine has a 25 oz. shot capacity, 175-ton clamp force and 430 mm x 510 mm (16.93" x 20.08") platens. The LSR shot can be delivered to the mold cavity at approximately one-third the pressure required for conventional elastomers. Using the same injection unit, this press can run LSR, viscous silicone pegs (using the REP Silicone Stuffer® attachment) or strip rubber.

As an option, REP offers this press only for molding LSR, by removing the extruder from the injection head.

Proprietary REP G8 controls onboard the press can be easily adapted for molding various compounds, with full parameter storage on the PC. All set/actual values are displayed in plain language (English or others).

Molds for this press can be likewise easily interchanged, as the machine's injection nozzle can be furnished with or without cold runner block valve adaptations.

As shown in the photo, the REP LSR press is also equipped with an innovative pumping/mixing station for direct drum-to-injection hand feed of the constituent materials of LSR.

Custom modifications are available to suit molder requirements. Case histories on request.
