Infrared Thermometers measure temperatures up to 1,832°F

Press Release Summary:

Non-contact, infrared thermometers are designed to take readings in high-temperature applications such as diesel engines and exhausts, as well as industrial equipment. They measure performance of radiators and coolers, monitor engine performance, and locate sources of overheating problems. Depending on temperature range of application, 3 models are offered that can monitor temperatures from 518-1,832°F.

Firwin Corp Expands Product Line to Include Infrared Thermometers

Toronto, September 10, 2007:

Firwin Corp, a Toronto-based manufacturer of removable insulation blankets, announced recently a new addition to its product line: Non-contact, infrared thermometers, used to take readings in high temperature applications such as diesel engines and exhausts, as well as industrial equipment.

"While Firwin's insulation blankets are used in a variety of settings and industries, the one thing they have in common is high temperatures", said Paul Herman, Firwin's president. "Non-contact infrared thermometers are a safe, effective, and easy way to monitor temperatures of heat-generating equipment and components."

With the newer generation of diesel engines moving towards higher combustion temperatures, non-contact infrared temperature monitoring is becoming increasingly important. Infrared thermometers are used to measure the performance of radiators and coolers, monitor engine performance, and locate sources of overheating problems. "The ability to safely measure temperatures of heat generating equipment, such as diesel engines and exhaust components, is an essential part of preventative maintenance programs and a valuable tool for troubleshooting potential heat problems", notes Paul. "They are also helpful in monitoring the effectiveness of insulation blankets. If the temperature of the outer face of a blanket is abnormally high, this could be an indication that the blankets has lost its effectiveness and needs to be replaced", added Paul.

Firwin offers 3 different models of infrared thermometers, depending on the temperature range of the application. The higher end model can monitor temperatures as high as 1832 ° F (1000 ° C), while the lower end model, intended for industrial applications, is limited to 518° F (270 ° C).

With the addition of non-contact infrared thermometers, Firwin continues its strategy of adding complementary products to its line of insulation products. Pricing and ordering information can be obtained by contacting the company directly.
