Honeywell Introduces the HOA1180 IR Sensor with Reflective Metal Components

FREEPORT, Ill., August 28, 2003 - Honeywell [NYSE:HON] Sensing and Control introduces the HOA1180 IR Sensor with reflective metal components with a choice of phototransistor or photodarlington output, this sensor provides amplified output for easy differentiation between actual signals and noise. The phototransistor output provides fast response, while the photodarlington output provides higher sensitivity.

The sensor lends itself to extreme temperature applications as well as standard commercial applications with a wide operating temperature range (-55 °C to 100 °C).

Because of the high sensitivity of the sensor, there can be an extended distance between the sensor and the reflective surface, and surfaces are not required to be highly reflective.

The easy, single-screw mount and 12 inch (305 mm) minimum 28 AWG PVC insulated wire leads offer customers flexibility and ease of termination with a variety of connection schemes.
