Infrared Heater heats small circular area.

Press Release Summary:

Modified SpotIR® series heaters provide clean, non-contact, continuous heat on small target or object. Model 4150 dissipates maximum power of 250 W and heats up to 1800°F. Model 4085 heats up to 2000°F and dissipates 500 or 750 W power. Rapid-response T3 lamps heat up and cool down instantly. Applications include heat staking, metal annealing, soldering and desoldering electronic components, heating thermoplastic composites, localized stress relief, and brazing.

Original Press Release:

Improved Spot Heater Allows More Efficient Response, Continuous Operation, And More Controlled Energy Output

October 31, 2003, Eden Prairie, MN - Research Inc., an industry leader in the design, development and manufacture of electric infrared heating components and integrated heating systems, introduces the modified SpotIR® infrared heater series. The SpotIR series of electrical heaters are designed for use on any application that requires clean, non-contact heat on a small target or object.

Research Inc.'s innovative SpotIR offers the capability to heat a small circular area. The SpotIR is typically used in applications involving heat staking, metal annealing, soldering
and desoldering electronic components, heating thermoplastic composites, localized weld stress relief, and brazing. The rapid response T3 lamps in these heaters heat up and cool down instantly in response to power control signals allowing exceptionally rapid response. As a result of the construction and air-cooling system, the SpotIR can withstand continuous high temperature operation. The infrared energy emitted from these heaters can be adjusted to match the heating requirements of a variety of applications.

The SpotIR series includes Model 4150 and Model 4085. The Model 4150 reaches a maximum power dissipation of 250 watts and can heat product to temperatures of 1800°F (982°C). The Model 4085 reaches 500 or 750 watts depending on lamp type and can heat to temperatures of 2000°F (1093°C).

The SpotIR is now available worldwide through Research Inc.'s extensive distribution network. Sales inquiries should be directed to Carrie Feldman, Research Inc., 7128 Shady Oak Road, Eden Prairie, MN 55344. (952) 941-3300
