Infor Eam Enterprise Edition Helps Automotive Parts Manufacturer Enhance Maintenance Operations

Grupo Taranto Deploys Enterprise Asset Management Software in all Production Plants

ATLANTA - December 17, 2007 - Infor announced today that Grupo Taranto in Argentina, a leading Latin American automotive parts manufacturer, has implemented Infor Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Enterprise Edition to manage production tools, such as molds, in all of its plants. Infor's software is an essential component of Taranto's comprehensive preventive maintenance strategy and facilitates enhanced visibility across the manufacturer's maintenance operations.

Prior to deploying Infor EAM, Taranto relied on an internal database to handle asset management for machinery and Microsoft Office applications to manage its production tool assets. Now, it uses the Infor EAM system to register all maintenance operations and analyze historical data. Infor EAM provides a centralized way for its employees to view repair records and modifications made to production tools throughout its enterprise.

Taranto selected Infor EAM Enterprise Edition following a comprehensive evaluation process which included consideration of the following factors: domain experience, market presence, implementation costs, total cost of ownership, local presence, and other factors.

"Our goal was to implement Infor EAM in all plants simultaneously and also migrate all equipment and tool data from our legacy management software, mainly Excel spreadsheets," said Jos© Luis Dalla Gassa, project leader, for Taranto. "My team achieved this goal on time, thanks in large part to the automotive manufacturing-specific capabilities built into Infor EAM Enterprise Edition and the excellent support we received from Infor´s technical team."

"The business-specific capabilities built-into Infor EAM Enterprise Edition allow us to easily meet our customers' quality requirements, as well as the strict regulations of the automotive industry," adds Luis Marti, maintenance chief of plants for Taranto, in San Juan.

"To succeed, manufacturers must manage their assets wisely. Infor EAM Enterprise Edition provides a proven, cost-effective system to help enterprising companies like Taranto, manage their assets in a way that can result in increased productivity, reduced downtime and improved compliance with industry certification and safety standards," states Claudio Umaschi, Infor VP for the South Cone.

Infor EAM Enterprise Edition is an enterprise asset management solution for monitoring and managing the deployment, performance and maintenance of company assets. Infor EAM enables manufacturers, distributors and services organizations to save time and money by optimizing maintenance resources, improving equipment and staff productivity, increasing inventory efficiency, and strengthening their ability to collect on warranty-related claims. Infor EAM software includes reporting tools that enable better decision-making to help improve future asset performance management and profitability.
