SSV Embedded Systems, the specialist when it comes to complex communication tasks, now offers its latest Embedded Box PCs with both a WiFi and a GPRS interface. SSV has developed these products in response to its customers' requests for a single communication unit enabling seamless wireless communication.
The Com/PC series Embedded Box PCs feature a number of common communication interfaces, both wireless and wired. The Com/PC uses the integrated Embedded Gateway Linux (EGL/2) to connect IP-based networks to Industrial Ethernet or classic bus systems via GSM/GPRS/EDGE radio networks.
Thanks to its combination of GSM/GPRS and WiFi interfaces, the Com/PC is the ideal gateway for integrating Ethernet-capable devices in wireless IP networks, both locally and globally. The integrated GSM/GPRS module with EDGE support facilitates broadband data transfer. This means that the system is particularly well suited for use in M2M applications, which need to be connected to a central location. Examples can be found in the fields of remote maintenance, tank field monitoring, telemetry, and POS/vending machines.
As well as standard interfaces for the keyboard, mouse and monitor, other special features of the Com/PC include 10 UARTs (COM1-COM10), 4 x USB, 1 x 10/100 Mbps Ethernet, 1 x 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet, and various expansion slots for Mini PCI cards, several modem modules, and fieldbus cards.
Thanks to the security functions integrated in the operating system, such as SSL, SSH, and OpenVPN, the system is also suitable for transferring sensitive information, such as company-related and personal data for the purposes of time and attendance recording, for example. The Com/PC is easy to configure by means of a user-friendly Web configuration interface.
As with all other SSV systems, the Com/PC can be individually tailored according to customer requirements.
