Compact PC Control Without PCI Slot Compromise

Beckhoff expands C63xx control cabinet IPC family with new, three-PCI slot variants

MINNEAPOLIS, March 8, 2005 - Beckhoff Automation has expanded its C63xx compact control cabinet Industrial PC family with two new variants. While earlier models in this IPC family had one free PCI slot, the new C6340 and C6350 IPCs both have three free PCI slots. This makes the C63xx PC series even more flexible to include an even wider range of applications.

The C63xx series of Industrial PCs were designed with control cabinet installation in mind. The PCs are beneficial to applications where PC control technology in ultra-compact design is required. The two new models feature a slot motherboard for Intel Celeron or Pentium III processors. The three PCI slots on the 5-slot passive backplane can be used for extra PC fieldbus cards, for example, in systems where several fieldbus systems are used in parallel. The external dimensions of the C6340 are 134 x 196 x 226 mm (W x H x D) without mounting plate and the C6350 with CD-RW drive adds only 14 mm to the width.

All of the PC connections are uniformly located at the front, while mountings on the sides offer optimum control cabinet installation flexibility for the user. As with all PCs in this series, the internal chassis can be removed for configuration and maintenance purposes. The DVI and USB interfaces supplied with the basic configuration also enable trouble-free Control Panel connection.
