Ethernet Direct Releases IRE-321EC & IRE-323EC Industrial 5-port with Fiber Redundant Ring Switch Supporting Modbus over TCP
Taipei, Taiwan, 25 December, 2008- Ethernet Direct Corporation, a professional and primary provider of Industrial Networking and communication solutions, releases a series of uniquely designed Industrial Ethernet Switches IRE-321EC and IRE-323EC which comes with extended temperature and optional conformal coating.
The IRE series one of the few Industrial Ethernet switches that supports Modbus over TCP. The Iguana IRE-321ECand IRE-321EC are Industrial 5-port Unmanaged Ethernet Switches with three 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports and two multi-mode (IRE-321EC) or single mode (IRE-323EC) ports with Redundant ring technology. The self-healing technology can recover from any network downtime in less than 50 ms on full load. Modbus/TCP, Modbus/RTU and OPC are supported by IRE-321EC & IRE-323EC. SCADA application can monitor status of Ethernet and fiber port with Modbus or OPC protocol to provide majority of applications with a seamless process. When IRE devices are placed into a redundant ring application, its redundant ring technology detects and recovers a fiber or copper link failure in milliseconds. The flammability protected entry-level industrial hardened Ethernet switch specifically designed in applications where transmission must be protected from electrical exposure, surges, lightning, chemical corrosion and in hazardous locations. In addition, the Iguana switches offer Ethernet isolation of 1500 Vrms and frame ground for EMS protection which is not a standard feature in most Industrial Ethernet devices.
Iguana series Industrial Ethernet Real-Time Redundant Ring Switches are engineered for mission critical, the devices installed need to assure reliable 24x7 operations. The shielded Ethernet port connectors offer a high reliability Ethernet environment for industrial control and automation. While the two power inputs can be connected simultaneously to live DC power sources. If one of the power inputs fails, the other live source acts as a backup to automatically and the relay output facility can deliver warning signal while dual power or network link failure.
