Glacier Computer Announces GX-1000(TM) Rugged Computer
10" Forklift and Fixed-Mount Computer Withstand Harsh Environments
AMHERST, NH - Glacier Computer, a leading designer, developer, and supplier of rugged industrial PC-compatible devices, announces its GX-1000 series computer for the mining and coal industry. Ideal for harsh environments, the GX-1000 can be attached to a forklift or function on a fixed-mount location.
The GX-1000 can operate using Windows® CE, 2000 or XP systems. Windows® CE runs with minimal DRAM and fits on a 32 MB solid-state drive. Additionally, customers have the option to upgrade the Windows® CE based GX-1000 to Windows® XP at any time by changing the hard drive.
The GX-1000 has a 10.4-inch color display, rugged touchscreen, 800 MHz Via processor, wireless options and multiple I/O. The GX-1000 is housed in a very compact enclosure and is ideal for applications such as forklifts and fixed-mount warehousing, distribution and factory floor settings. Because of its small size, the GX-1000 allows forklift operators far greater line-of-sight than competing standard-sized touchscreens.
The GX-1000 10" unit is the latest addition to Glacier's current GX product line, which includes the 12" and 15" versions. Glacier also offers a rugged tablet and laptop for portable challenges.
