1.2 GHz Industrial Computer Offers Dual Hot-Swap Power Supply and RAID-1 Hot-Swap SCSI Drive System

Computer Dynamics, Inc. introduces the Nd1200, a powerful industrial computing platform intended for processor-intensive applications requiring high-reliability. Powered by a 1.2 GHz Pentium III processor with 133 MHz front-side bus for impressive I/O throughput, the Ndl200 offers up to 512M of ECC SDRAM, a field-replaceable 41G EIDE hard disk drive, and all standard PC-compatible I/O, including SXGA compatible video and SoundBlaster-Pro compatible audio. Housed in a rugged 4U size enclosure, the Ndl200 is designed to comply with the IEC68-2-6 specification for vibration and the IEC 68-2-27 specification for shock. With four PCI slots and one PCI/ISA slot for I/O expansion, the Ndl200 is an ideal platform for a variety of industrial control and communications applications.

For applications requiring maximum fault-tolerance, the Nd1200 is available with a 300W dual hot-swap power supply and a RAID-1 Controller with dual hot-swap SCSI drives. In case of power supply failure, the system will automatically switch to the backup supply and initiate an audible alarm, alerting the user of the failure. The RAID-1 option implements data mirroring between the two 10,000 RPM SCSI drives, thereby providing redundancy by duplicating all data from one drive onto the other drive. In the event of a drive failure, no data is lost. A variety of operating systems are available pre-installed, including Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows NT
Server and Windows 2000 Server.

Rated to operate from 5 - 400 Celsius, the Ndl200 measures 6.9" x 16.5" x 16.5" (HxWxD) and weighs 30 pounds. The Ndl200 is available with a 19" rack-mount option. Available from stock, systems prices begin at $2595.
