InduSoft Wins Software Mobile Apps Award

Unique product features enable users to remotely access HMI/SCADA information from virtually any mobile device including smartphones and tablets.

Austin, TX — InduSoft announces its Enhanced Studio Mobile Access software was selected for the Control Engineering 2014 Engineers’ Choice award for the Software – Mobile Apps for Controls, Automation, Instrumentation category.

Each year the readers of Control Engineering magazine vote for the best products in automation, control and instrumentation based on technological advancement, service to the industry and market impact. This year they recognized InduSoft’s unique mobile access capabilities.

The company’s Enhanced Studio Mobile Access offering enables InduSoft Web Studio 7.1 users to develop screens, widgets and animations that can be deployed to a variety of mobile devices such as Android tablets and smartphones, and iPads and iPhones.

InduSoft Web Studio is an industry leader in terms of using HTML5 to develop mobile access apps for their HMI/SCADA solutions. This enables them to simultaneously deploy apps across all devices that support the HTML5 standard, which includes all Android-based devices, iPads and iPhones, and other devices.

In addition, the Enhanced Studio Mobile Access lets users access screens, animations, and widgets from any web browser without the need to install or maintain software on the device.

Providing users with easy access to automation screens from disparate devices, such as iPhones and Androids, without making them wait for applications to be created for their specific device is a key differentiator in today’s market. As more businesses implement “bring your own device” policies, the ability to visualize and interact with automation system data from diverse handheld devices is becoming a core requirement for their automation software, not simply an add-on feature.

In commenting on the award, InduSoft Vice President Marcia Gadbois acknowledges the company’s focus on the importance of its customers. “We really owe this honor to those who support InduSoft Web Studio – our end user customers, OEMs, distributors and certified system integrators. This robust community is the reason InduSoft is able to continue to break new ground,” says Gadbois.

InduSoft Web Studio also received an honorable mention in the HMI software category in this year’s awards. In 2013, InduSoft received the Engineers’ Choice awards in three categories, and it won the HMI software award in 2012.
