Increase Flexibility in Packaging Operations with VarioFlow S Conveyor System - PACK EXPO '07

New Curves and Stainless Steel Options in VarioFlow S Bring Adaptive Modularity(TM) to New Applications. Common framing, drive, and support components create more flexibility in installation and allow for easy adaptation to changing needs.

(Buchanan, MI - www.boschrexroth-us.com) New modules and capabilities in the VarioFlow S conveyor system from Rexroth's Linear Motion and Assembly Technologies group simplify conveyor system installation and adaptation for both end users and system integrators.

Building on a base of modular components that offer the recognized benefits of modular plastic chain conveyors, VarioFlow S now lets integrators and end users create systems from 80 to 320 mm wide in either aluminum or stainless steel. Common framing, drive, and support components create more flexibility in installation and in later adaptation to changing needs by allowing these components to be used freely in any VarioFlow system.

Additionally, VarioFlow S chain rides on side profiles that are common to the different widths, with cross connectors allowing the varying widths. The open system design also lends itself to washdown and hygienic applications.

A noteworthy new technology is Rexroth's patented horizontal curve in VarioFlow S. The new curves are equipped with ball bearings that to ensure minimal friction and to allow for trouble-free, smooth operation in accumulated conditions-eliminating the tug-and-jerk frequently found in competing technologies. Drives are built for modularity with easy adaptation to right-hand or left-hand gearmotor mounting, even in installed applications. Unlike competitive offerings, VarioFlow S features an integrated slip clutch design, thus ensuring that this important safety feature is delivered in every drive, while at the same time minimizing the drive's space requirements.
