Rontal Announces Rugged Portable Incident Management System

Lod, Israel, March 10, 2008. Rontal Applications Ltd. (rontal.com), a developer and provider of innovative incident management and operational continuity systems, today announced a rugged portabe version of its SimGuard incident management system. The system, SimGuard4000 MOBILE, enables incident management from mobile platforms, such as a vehicle or trailer. SimGuard 4000 MOBILE is an ideal solution for monitoring and securing public gatherings, such as large-scale entertainment and sporting events, festivals, demonstrations, temporary facilities such as large fairs, and similar venues. In addition, SimGuard 4000 MOBILE can serve as a mobile extension of the SimGuard static system, and help organizations manage their emergency situations in an even more effective manner.

SimGuard4000 MOBILE includes three 20-inch screens, is shock and dust proof, and can withstand high humidity and temperature changes. It includes all applications and features of the SimGuard 4000 local site management system, encompassing all phases of the incident: planning, training, real-time and debriefing.

When SimGuard4000 MOBILE serves as a mobile extension to a static system, all the information stored in the main system is duplicated on the rugged portable system. When serving as a stand-alone system to monitor large-scale events, the planning and preparation phase includes virtual installation of various sensors, such as video cameras and access control devices (whether already in place or temporary devices yet to be installed), and assesses the vulnerability of the environmment. Law enforcement officers and event managers may conduct simulations for different potential scenarios using 3D models, allowing them to gain an early understanding of potential security and safety situations before they occur.

During a large scale public event, SimGuard4000 MOBILE gathers information from all available sensors (such as permanent and temporary cameras), fusing and presenting it on one Situational Awareness 3D display of the site. This display enables staff who are managing the event rapidly to understand the implications of an incident, identify the relevant scenario from the scenario library, and predict the potential impact on subsequent event activities. The system enables security managers, who are not necessarily familiar with the site (for example - when the site is a temporary venue for a mass gathering), to make the optimal decisions in real time.

SimGuard4000 MOBILE can continue to manage the site or the scene even if it has to be moved from the event's location. This is accomplished by landline or wireless Internet, and is agnostic to geographical position. This feature is important when the incident includes evacuation scenarios, and the command post must help monitor the site and the evacuees who are assembled in remote locations.

"We developed SimGuard4000 MOBILE following queries that we received from police officers and municipal executives, indicating a critical need for a mobile incident management system that can enhance safety and security incident management during critical events. In addition, we realized that large facilities also need a mobile extension for emergency situations that require evacuation," said Roni Zehavi, Rontal's co-founder and CEO.
