Original Press Release:

New 7/16" Hex Quick-Change High-Torque Impact Wrenches Introduced by Milwaukee Electric Tool

Brookfield, WI (March 2003) - Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation has expanded their present line of heavy-duty impact wrenches with the highest torque ratings in their classes to now include three 7/16" Hex Quick-Change models. These powerful, ergonomically designed wrenches offer versatility and reliability to electric and communications utilities, who demand a combination of high torque and on-the-job comfort. In addition to more power, these impacts offer greater ergonomics and a lower weight versus competitive models.

These new models feature a 7/16" Hex Quick-Change drive rather that a 1/2" or 3/4" square drive. The mechanisms and transmission designs are from Milwaukee's new line of impact wrenches introduced last year. All models feature ergonomic styling with a cushioned grip and balanced compact shape designed for everyday use. They are great for drilling long holes in wood poles, as well as installing and removing line and pole hardware.

Milwaukee new 18-volt cordless 7/16" Hex Quick-Change impact wrenches offer the highest torque available of any cordless model, 270 ft.-lbs., higher than that of many competitors' corded models. These tools also offer a variable speed trigger and soft grip handle. Model 9099-23 (kit) comes with two 2.4 amp hour batteries, a vehicle charger for mobile charging capabilities and a large contractor bag that provides additional space for other tools and can fit into truck storage cabinets. This tool also features a standard hanger bracket with a solid steel ring for hanging on belts, climbing pegs and for lifting with a rope and clasp. Model 9099-20 is available as tool only, for customers already using the Milwaukee 18-volt battery system.

The model 9092-20 features a 120V, 7 Amp Milwaukee built motor that delivers 315 ft. lbs. of torque for tough, demanding applications. It has a variable speed trigger with a dial that allows speed/torque to be preset for easier starting of fasteners and better control when installing smaller fasteners, and Milwaukee's exclusive Quik-Lok® Cord System for rapid replacement of damaged cords or to use a different length. This tool also includes a standard hanger bracket with a solid steel ring.

Ideal for utility industries, these tools are also useful for marine construction, pole barn builders, landscapers, deck builder and any contractor that drills long holes, installs large fasteners, or changes sockets frequently. A 5/8" Hex Quick-Change conversion kit is available for users that prefer to use 5/8" Hex Quick-Change accessories.

These new Quick-Change Impact Wrenches are backed by Milwaukee's limited warranty and Service Plus Program, providing one year of free maintenance when shipped to a Milwaukee Branch Office/Service Center.
