Precon's Immersion Temperature Probe Eliminates Need For Thermal Well
MEMPHIS, Tennessee (August 15, 2003) Precon Inc., a leading manufacturer of precision sensors, probes, and integrated electronics for over 35 years, announces the PL-PH Series temperature probe for use in a wide variety of applications that have traditionally required a thermal well. This unit utilizes a corrosion-resistant brass or stainless steel housing with a substantially increased wall thickness, eliminating the need for a separate thermal well. The design of the probe also provides for a fast time response. In most applications, the probe can be inserted directly into the liquid being measured, even corrosive liquids like hot, chlorinated water from a pool or spa.
The standard probe is available with a choice of thermistor or RTD sensor elements and a wide variety of resistance curves. Additional options include various probe lengths, thread type and size, and standard or custom wire or cable.
Applications for the new probe include pool and spa heaters, food and beverage equipment, surface transportation, analytical instruments, and building controls.
