Leica Microsystems Inc. Introduces Leica FW4000 Modular Fluorescence Imaging Solution

March 2004

Bannockburn, Illinois. Leica Microsystems introduces the Leica FW4000 modular fluorescence imaging workstation.

Working with leading laboratories, Leica has developed a fluorescence imaging solution with a workflow-oriented interface that guides the user through the imaging process and makes it easy to set up, capture, review, process, publish, and archive images.

With a wide variety of modules available, the Leica FW4000 is a cost-effective solution that meets individual lab requirements. Its modularity makes it ideal for both entry-level and complex imaging applications, and allows the purchase of only those features needed in the laboratory, as well as the flexibility to upgrade the system to accommodate future imaging needs.

The FW4000's dynamic "lab book" automatically re-creates the scientific log used in laboratories, records all experimental data by operator, and efficiently organizes large volumes of data into the appropriate folders.

The standard FW4000 system includes control of the microscope filters and shutters, and offers:

o Image enhancement
o Manual and automatic feature management
o Multiple image display in an interactive gallery
o A variety of publishing features

The Leica FW4000 is highly versatile with a full complement of components and software facilities. Leica offers a wide range of camera systems for every application and budget.
