New X64-CL Express is a Value Priced, PCI-Express Compatible Frame Grabber with On-Board Pre-Processing
STUTTGART, GERMANY (November 8, 2005) - DALSA Coreco, (a division of DALSA Corporation -TSX: DSA), a leading developer of high-performance machine vision components and services, today announced the X64-Express(TM) series with the launch of the X64-CL Express. The X64-CL Express is a Camera Link® frame grabber compatible with a PCI Express x1 interface. The X64-CL Express supports up to two independent Base or one Medium Camera Link color and/or monochrome cameras. Its low cost, combined with its ability to reconfigure input taps from a multiple-tap area and linescan cameras simultaneously; in addition to its on-board FPGA based processing (including Bayer decoding and real-time shading correction) makes the X64-CL Express an ideal solution to a wide variety cost-sensitive applications where flexibility, performance and reliability cannot be compromised. The X64-CL Express will be introduced and showcased during VISION 2005 at DALSA Coreco's stand #616.

Similar to other image acquisition boards in the X64 Series, the X64-CL Express is engineered within Coreco Imaging's Trigger-to-Image Reliability framework to ensure highly reliable and efficient acquisition control throughout the entire image capture sequence. This exacting technology framework leverages Coreco Imaging's hardware and software innovations to control and monitor the image acquisition process, from the time that an external trigger event occurs to the moment the data is transmitted to the PCI Express bus.
Software Support
The X64-CL Express features support for Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64, a 64-bit operating system that supports processors with 64-bit extension to x86 architecture. The 64-bit OS support is especially advantageous for high-performance machine vision applications that require large amount of memory to store and process long sequences of images. The X64-CL Express is capable of transferring image above and beyond 4GB address space thereby utilizing the maximum available physical memory.
The X64-CL Express is supported by Coreco Imaging's Sapera(TM) LT software for acquisition and control and Sapera Processing(TM) software for image processing and analysis, enabling New Product applications to be developed for Windows® 2000 and Windows® XP. In addition, Sapera Processing includes a suite of optimized tools, also available as standalone, for pattern matching, OCR, blob analysis and barcode decoding. Sapera LT and Sapera Processing work together to simplify vision application development.
