Extreme Announces Spectrum(TM) White Light Illumination

Patented "Even-Illumination" for Accurate Event-Capture in Night-Time Color

Extreme CCTV (TSX:EXC) announces the North American release of its Spectrum Series White Light Illuminators for technical surveillance. Based on award-winning British technology, the Spectrum Series White Light Illuminators are designed for technical night-time surveillance at critical security locations.

Spectrum builds on Extreme's industry-leading position in active-imaging night vision technology. Using a "Mired Shift Filter" that counteracts color distortions caused by conventional light sources such as high-pressure sodium (HPS) lamps, the Spectrum Series ensures accurate color reproduction in low-light environments. The Spectrum Series also features a dedicated power supply that incorporates a dry-contact switch, allowing remote control operation via electrical relay.

Developed through years of research and development, Extreme's range of active-imaging solutions is successfully applied at high-level security projects across the globe. The Spectrum Series White Light Illuminators enable the important new capability of accurate night-time color performance, without the need to install expensive flood lighting. Combined with its remote control operation, the Spectrum Series can be activated at the time it is triggered by security events such as alarms, passive infrared (PIR) or video motion detection. Already field-proven for use in defense projects in Europe, the Spectrum Series provides an important video capture capability for sensitive sites at risk of security breaches by people or vehicles.

White light illuminators are the most recent addition to Extreme's proprietary and internationally patented family of night vision solutions. Extreme's British and North American engineering teams are jointly developing a LED-based white light illuminator that will integrate with modern digital video management systems (DVMS). The prototype will produce timed flashes of light that synchronize precisely with security events, allowing intelligent integration with other systems such as intrusion detection.

"Although this patented device was developed years ago, its time for critical usage is now given the need to accurately video-capture events that occur under security threats," says Jack Gin, President and CEO of Extreme CCTV. "The Spectrum Series can be automated for remote on/off operation when sensors detect threats. It is not intended to complement architectural lighting, but more critically, it is designed to provide all the necessary lighting for integrated surveillance cameras."

Extreme CCTV designs, manufactures and markets extreme application, all-environment high-performance CCTV surveillance camera systems and infrared illuminators for technical surveillance throughout the world. Extreme CCTV's security cameras and night vision equipment have reached end users on all seven continents. For more information on Extreme CCTV products, visit www.ExtremeCCTV.com.
