IEC Terminal Blocks speed wiring installation.

Press Release Summary:

With common profile design for sizes 3-10, Series 1492-J screw-type terminal blocks suit applications where multiple wires enter or exit out of specific terminal block circuit. Spring-clamp 1492-L terminal blocks provide reliable contact in high-vibration applications since wire is under constant tension. Series 1492-K insulation displacement connection terminal blocks eliminate need to strip wire before termination. All are IP2X finger-safe, meet IEC standards, and carry UL and CSA ratings.

Rockwell Automation Expands Allen-Bradley IEC Terminal Block Line With New Screw-Type and Spring-Clamp Offerings and Printer Accessory

MILWAUKEE, Feb.12, 2004 - OEMs, panel builders and end users worldwide will be able to speed installation, help reduce wiring costs and meet a broader range of global wiring applications with Rockwell Automation's newly expanded Allen-Bradley IEC terminal block line.

The new Allen-Bradley 1492-J screw-type and 1492-L spring-clamp terminal blocks are designed to reduce wiring installation time and increase connection reliability in a broad range of demanding applications. Combined with the recently launched 1492-K insulation displacement connection terminal blocks, these new termination solutions form a complete family of new products supporting three key termination technologies:

1492-J screw-type terminal blocks provide superior efficiency in applications where multiple wires enter or exit out of a specific terminal block circuit. Screw terminals often accept up to four solid or stranded wires into a single terminal. With a common profile design for sizes three through ten, 1492-J line terminal blocks reduce the number of different end barriers required and provide improved marker visibility for cleaner and more organized panel spaces.

1492-L spring-clamp terminal blocks offer a faster and more durable connection using spring-clamp connection technology. These spring-clamp terminal blocks can reduce wiring time by up to 50 percent compared to screw-type terminal blocks. Since the wire is under constant tension from the spring clamp, the 1492-L terminal blocks provide a more reliable contact in high-vibration applications.

1492-K insulation displacement connection terminal blocks offer a faster method of connection by eliminating the need to strip the wire before termination. The wire is simply cut to length, inserted into the terminal block, and terminated using a screwdriver. All Allen-Bradley IEC Terminal Blocks are IP2X finger-safe, meet recognized IEC standards, and carry UL and CSA ratings. All products can be mounted on standard DIN rails for faster and more efficient installation. Many of these IEC terminal blocks are available in nine different colors for easy identification.

Along with the latest terminal block offering, Rockwell Automation has introduced the Fast Track Printer, a new high-tech marking system for terminal blocks.

The Fast Track Printer utilizes innovative print jet technology for faster marker printing, reduced printer maintenance, and permanent ink that will not smear or rub off the terminal block markers. The new Fast Track marking system enables panel builders and OEMs to customize font type, point size, bold, italics, alignment, and orientation.
