Caymas Systems Ships First Identity-Driven Access Gateway For Small/Medium Businesses

Customers and Channel Partners Select The Only Access Gateway Offering SSL VPN Remote Access, Extranets, And Internal Access Control

February 7, 2005, PETALUMA, CALIFORNIA - Caymas Systems announced today the availability of the Caymas 220, the first Identity-Driven Access Gateway designed and priced for small and medium enterprises. The Caymas 220 is the only Access Gateway that provides a single source for SSL VPN-based remote access, business partner extranets, and wire-speed internal access control for small and medium businesses. The Caymas 220 gives these businesses high end access and protection never before affordable. The new product offers far more access control, security, and flexibility than last generation SSL VPN appliances, and without the high cost of custom identity and access management solutions.

The Caymas 220 opens up the world of identity-driven access to small and medium sized companies. Many of these companies can't afford the costly combination of SSL VPN appliances, DMZ/Data Replication systems, application level firewalls, identity management and access control devices required to securely open their networks. The Caymas 220 supports up to 100 concurrent users and delivers 100 Mbps throughput, along with the most complete behavior monitoring and control to ease compliance with privacy and security mandates.

"Small and medium sized businesses have many of the same access issues that large businesses do," says Jeff Wilson, analyst at Infonetics Research. "Remote employees, business partners, and internal users demand access to critical information assets. Businesses must be able to connect specific users to specific resources, prevent threats, and view and control all behavior. A solution that makes this access control affordable and deployable for these businesses is badly needed."

The Caymas 220 joins the currently available Caymas 525 and Caymas 318 Identity-Driven Access Gateways. All Caymas Gateways feature a unique, patent pending Identity Tagging Architecture to tie all access control and security decisions to the Identity of users, devices, and resources. Caymas Gateways perform network level admission, including integrated endpoint integrity checking, and application level access control with complete identity-based monitoring of both users and resources. Full application level security is integrated specifically for authorized users and across encrypted sessions.

Next Solutions is an Application Service Provider in Southern California with dozens of small and medium business customers looking to improve productivity by extending access to remote users and business partners. "We selected the Caymas 220 because we need solutions that don't require large IT staffs and training departments," says Burt Lee, President and CEO of Next Solutions. "We need solutions that allow us to extend fine grained access without disrupting existing business processes or increasing the risk of attack. The Caymas 220 is just what we need to meet these demands. The price, performance, and ease of use are ideal."

RedZone Technologies is a leading Value Added Reseller in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, and a Caymas Authorized Partner specializing in small and medium enterprise organizations. "More and more of our customers need to extend access to remote employees and third parties," says Bill Murphy, President of RedZone. "It is not a matter of their size, but of the nature of business in the e-commerce world. The Caymas 220 provides an upgrade to second generation SSL VPNs that focus on perimeter defense and are severely lacking in internal control and access and granular auditing capabilities."

All Caymas products are purpose built, hardware accelerated Access Gateways, and are the only products that support hundreds to thousands of users, devices, and resources on a single platform. With wire-speed performance and a per Gateway pricing model, Caymas has amassed customers across all key vertical segments including financial services, healthcare, government, education, manufacturing, retail, transportation, legal, and information technology. The company has also signed on dozens of Caymas Authorized Partners throughout United States and Canada including 2ST, Blubat, Compurangers, GTC Solutions, RedZone Technologies, Right! Systems, Tribridge, and Vigilar.

"Businesses of all sizes are telling us they want to be able to instantly and affordably control access and control their businesses," says Sanjay Uppal, vice president of marketing and customer service for Caymas Systems. "We are extremely pleased with the acceptance of the Caymas 220 by our customers and partners."

The Caymas 220 Identity-Driven Access Gateway is available now at a list price of $9,995, with no additional per user or per resource fees. It can be seen at the RSA Security Conference in San Francisco February 14-17 inside the RSA Partner Pavilion at Booth #612.
