STOCKO Provides 2.5mm RAST Connector
BURGAW, N.C. (September 24, 2002) - STOCKO Corp. a member of the Wieland Group, recently introduced a RAST termination connector specifically designed for appliance and white goods applications. The insulation displacement contact (IDC) connector was designed specifically for convenient and easy application. Designated the RAST 2.5, the connector utilizes a 2.5mm spacing that enables quick connections for low power applications.
"The RAST 2.5 was created to ensure fast, reliable connections in space constrained applications," said STOCKO Product Manager, Robert Ourt. "This connector is perfect for small appliances and other low-power electronics requiring precise organized wiring methods."
The IDC connector is rated for up to 4A, 32V for wire sizes 22-24 AWG. It is available in 3-20 pole positions according to application. The housing material is rated to UL 94 V-0 flammability standards. The contacts offer clean IDC connections that slice through a conductor's insulating materials for direct contact with the conductor. Connections may be terminated by hand or using STOCKO's line of automated and semi-automated termination machines.
In addition to domestic appliances and white goods, the 2.5mm spacing of the IDC connector may be used in other electronics applications.
