Ice Sensor handles every type of natural precipitation.

Press Release Summary:

Suited for use in static-air applications, Ice*Meister Model 9734 operates as digital ice/no-ice indicator and consists of sensor head, cable, and interface board. At maximum sensitivities, it detects incipient formation of any kind of ice, and at minimum sensitivities, unit distinguishes heavy ice from slightly heavier ice. Running on less than ½ W from virtually any power source, sensor system is suited for use in hazardous, remote, unattended locations.

Novel New Ice Sensor Handles Every Type Of Natural Precipitation

SENSORS EXPO, June 11-13, 2007 -- New Avionics Corporation of Fort Lauderdale Florida announces a revolutionary new kind of ice detector for use in static-air applications. New proprietary technology eliminates all moving parts.

New Ice*Meister(TM) Model 9734 Industrial Ice Detecting Sensor System offers many newfound benefits of ice sensing capability in new applications where ice sensing has never been affordable before, or even available -- such as roadway signs, commercial and household refrigerators, retail thermometers and rain gauges, heliports at hospitals and oil rigs; irrigation controls for agriculture and golf courses.

Once "tuned" for the application at hand, Model 9734 operates as a digital ice/no-ice indicator. At maximum sensitivities, it detects the incipient formation of any kind of ice, and even senses the condensation from human breath.

At minimum sensitivities, it distinguishes heavy ice from slightly heavier ice. It detects and "stretches" raindrops for precise control of irrigation sprinklers, and it detects the point at which rain has turned to ice. It is ideal for use in hazardous, remote, unattended locations.

Model 9734 precipitation sensor system runs on less than ½ Watt from virtually any power source available, of any polarity -- primary batteries, solar panels, six-volt motorcycle batteries; even cell phone chargers, AC and DC alike.

The three components of Ice*Meister(TM) Model 9734 are the sensor head, the cable, and the interface board. Users provide raw input power, and receive data output via isolating relay contacts. This helps avoid system ground loops. Various options* are available for the sensor head and cable assembly. User interface board is provided, and can be enclosed in a weatherproof NEMA 4X box.

PRICE & DELIVERY: In unit quantities, Ice*Meister(TM) Model 9734 Industrial Ice Detecting Sensor Systems from New Avionics Corporation are priced from $1750 to $2750 depending on configuration. Complete system consists of sensor head, cable, and user interface including 30-second raindrop stretcher. Delivery is quoted at 90 days ARO.

*Available options include: De-ice heater. Type "R" mounting plate for refrigeration control. Type "O" mounting plate for open skies. Heavy-duty cable with heavy duty connectors, and heavy duty 100-foot extension cables for severe environments. Lighter-duty cable is shipped at customer-specified lengths. Weatherproof NEMA 4X enclosure box is also available.
