IC Sockets support dense pitch QFP devices.

Press Release Summary:

With 10 GHz bandwidth, Model SG-QFE-7000 accommodates 128-pin, 14 mm, 0.4 mm pitch TI Power Pad ICs without performance loss. Unit dissipates up to several watts without extra heatsinking and can handle up to 100 W with custom heatsink. Contact resistance is typically 23 mW per pin. Constructed with low inductance elastomer, sockets feature temperature range of -35 to +85°C, pin inductance of 10.15 nH, and capacitance to ground of 0.10 pF.

Original Press Release:

Chip Size, High Endurance, 10.0 GHz Socket for TI 0.4mm Pitch 14mm QFP Body IC

Users can socket their 128 pin, 14mm, 0.4mm pitch Texas Instruments Power Pad QFP IC's without performance loss with smallest socket footprint

EAGAN, MN. - August, 2006 - Ironwood Electronics' new high performance socket - SG-QFE-7000 allows 0.4mm pitch, 14mm body, power pad QFP IC's to be used in socket and operate without compromising performance in very high bandwidth applications. The new 10+ GHz bandwidth sockets (<-1dB at 10.0 GHz) support the very dense pitch QFP devices in a high density socket. The socket is designed to dissipate up to several watts without extra heatsinking and can handle up to 100 watts with custom heatsink. The contact resistance is typically 23 milliohms per pin. The socket connects all 28 pins and the center power pad with 10+ GHz bandwidth on all connections.

The SG-QFE-7000 is constructed with high performance and low inductance elastomer. The temperature range is -35 C to +85C. The pin inductance is 10.15 nH. Capacitance to ground is 0.10 pF. The socket accommodates IC packages such as the Texas Instruments Power Pad PQFP, 0.4 mm pitch.

Pricing for the SG-QFE-7000 socket is $1172 each at quantity 1.
