The new kitting module from FastPic® Systems provides increased employee productivity, throughput and accuracy by allowing individual SKUs to be picked, stored and managed as a kit. The kitting module is designed for use by manufacturers for assembly or distribution.
Kitting is the storage and retrieval of multiple stock keeping units (SKUs) to create a new part in assembly operations. Kitting improves productivity by reducing stock picking time, balancing the work flow from multiple workzones, and increasing picking accuracy. This approach is used in a variety of manufacturing, assembly and service operations where several components must be combined to create a finished part or sub-assembly.
The functionality of the kitting module allows single SKUs to be bundled together to speed up operations, eliminating the need to enter multiple individual line items. However, the ability to manage and track parts individually remains intact.
