Rugged, Modular and Compact I/O System in High Degrees of Protection
Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) has developed another distributed I/O system for cabinet-free installation. The Simatic ET 200pro from the Simatic ET 200 product family is especially compact and can be modularly expanded in a wide variety of ways. Vibration-proof to 25g shock load (gravitational acceleration), rugged, and designed in the high degrees of protection IP65, 66 and 67, it is installed direct at the machine outside the control cabinet. Assembly is particularly simple, using just a few screws. You can choose from three methods of connecting Profibus communication and the voltage supply: direct connection with screw-type cable glands up to sixteen amps electronic load, M12, 7/8" standard connectors, and Ecofast with prepared cable for data and power. The interface module can be expanded modularly using up to sixteen expansion modules. The removable modules can be replaced during operation thanks to permanent wiring and hot swapping. Features include module-specific to channel-specific diagnostics.
Available in the first stage of delivery are several four-channel analog and digital input/output modules, as well as eight-channel digital input/output modules. Other input/output modules, special modules such as frequency converters and pneumatic modules, identification systems, motor starters, and modules for failsafe applications and the Profinet interface will follow later.
