Xycom Automation Announces new IndustryPack® and PMC Modules

Saline, MI - September 11, 2002 - Xycom Automation, Inc., a subsidiary of Pro-face America, Inc. and a market leader in Industrial VMEbus products, is pleased to announce the addition of PMC based I/O, and an expanded IndustryPack (IP) I/O offering, to their Embedded product family.

IP and PMC mezzanine modules are applicable to systems having high I/O density and a diverse mix of analog, digital, fieldbus, motion control and serial requirements with low slot space.

Additional IndustryPack products include 8 new analog modules and 8 new digital modules, as well as 4 new communication modules and 2 memory modules. New IP offerings address fieldbus solutions like CAN, Interbus, Sercos, LON, and ARCNET. Xycom now has 6 motion control solutions in the IndustryPack form factor.

Also, new to the IP line is the TVME200. The TVME200 is a 6U VMEbus carrier for up to 4 single-size or two double-size IndustryPack modules allowing modular cost effective I/O solutions for applications like process control, medical systems, telecommunication and traffic control.

The TVME200 is a compatible and improved version of the industry standard VIPC616 from SBS Technologies. Improvements include the removal of jumpers in favor of rotary switches, selection of IRQ levels by use of either the rotary switch or via software only, additional status LED's, self-healing fuses on all power lines, surface-mount construction, reduced component count for higher reliability, and extended temperature (-40 to +85C).

Xycom additionally provides a full complement of PMC modules. "The addition of a complete PMC I/O family to Xycom's Embedded products is very exciting," points out Jerry Tubbs, Business Unit Manager for Embedded Systems at Xycom. "To be able to offer PMC based solutions for analog, digital, memory, fieldbus, motion, networking and communications opens up a whole new level of the embedded market."

Drivers for VxWorks®, LiNUX, Windows®, LynxOS, pSOS+(TM), QNX®/Neutrino and OS-9® are currently supported.
