New Module Handles Communications to High Power Components

(Hartford, WI) A recently introduced module by HED Inc. puts operators in control of higher power components in off-road equipment. The CL-408 enables joysticks and other control devices to interface with machine bi-directional servos, valves, solenoids, etc.

Designers can configure the CL-408 as a "slave" module in a CAN (Controlled Area Network) System, although as a stand-alone module or Single Board Controller it has an additional 4 digital inputs available. The feature that makes the CL-408 unique is the Input/Output count, high amperage available on the outputs, and a 50mA 5VDC regulated supply for providing power to external input devices.

Inputs/outputs on the module include:
3 0-5VDC 12-bit analog Inputs
1 Frequency or Switch to Ground (STG) Input
4 15A Bi-Directional Servo Outputs, PWM or Digital
3 15A Sourcing Outputs, PWM or Digital
1 50mA 5VDC regulated supply

HED packages the CL-408 module in the company's standard aluminum extrusion NEMA-4 case with Deutsch DT connectors. Like all CANLink components, the CL-408 can withstand harsh environments.
