New Rexroth FieldLine I/O Offers Enhanced Diagnostics, Fieldbus Support

Company will display FieldLine I/O at IMTS 2002, September 4-11, at McCormick Place in Chicago, Booth #4222

Rugged fixture-mount I/O module reduces cost with greater flexibility

The new FieldLine I/O from Bosch Rexroth's Electric Drives and Controls division is a rugged, fixture-mounted I/O module featuring enhanced diagnostics, all IP67 protection rating for distributed installation in harsh environments, and Fieldbus
support-all of which reduce costs by providing competitive first cost, fast, simple startup, improved uptime, and overall greater flexibility.

FieldLine I/O is available with 8 digital inputs, 8 digital outputs/2-Amp capacity, or 4 digital inputs/4 digital outputs/2-Amp capacity, and offers a detachable mounting subplate, as well as horizontal/vertical DIN rail mounting for fast installation.

FieldLine I/O provides Fieldbus connections that support Profibus, Interbus, and DeviceNet networks, allowing flexible integration into existing networks and reducing related engineering time and costs. Two fieldbus connections per module
eliminate the cost associated with T-connectors. The unit's enhanced diagnostic capabilities include monitoring of low sensor supply voltage, sensor supply overcurrent, short/overload, and low module supply voltage.

Integrated voltage isolation adds to the unit's advantages by reducing system downtime and integrating safety concepts using separated Output and Sensor voltage supplies.

Rexroth's Inline I/O System

For even greater flexibility, FieldLine I/O can be incorporated into Rexroth's Inline I/O System, which includes an Inline station compatible with all control systems. The Inline station's plug-and-play functionality provides an efficient, economical solution for managing signal inputs and outputs, motor starters, pneumatics, temperature sensors, and more, with communication via all common Fieldbuses. And the station's 1- and 2-channel granularity and compact design can reduce wiring by up to 80 percent and required space by up to 50 percent.
