Product Description
The 1756-L64 controller is the latest extension to the ControlLogix L6x controller family providing the memory, speed and processor capabilities designed to meet the demands of most plant floor applications. The 1756-L64 builds on the success of the 1756-L6x platform by expanding the user memory to 16 Mbytes.

The 1756-L64 is the largest memory controller in the Logix family. The controller is suited for applications which require higher amounts of memory to; store and execute recipe data, handle large projects or applications with intensive data requirements.

The 1756-L64 controller joins the 1756-L6x family which offer the following memory choices:
- 1756-L61 has a fixed memory size of 2 Mbytes
- 1756-L62 has a fixed memory size of 4 Mbytes
- 1756-L63 has a fixed memory size of 8 Mbytes Memory

A CompactFlash memory socket is embedded on all flavors of the 1756-L6x controllers. CompactFlash provides removable and portable nonvolatile storage for user programs and tag data. The controller firmware is also stored on the CompactFlash card. Using a properly loaded 1784CF64 Industrial CompactFlash card allows you to:
- Load your firmware and program and go into run mode in one step, saving time and minimizing the risk of user error when installing a new controller
- Perform firmware upgrades to the 1756-L6x without using RSLogix 5000 or ControlFlash software
- Replace a controller in your system by simply inserting or replacing the CompactFlash card.
