Hyland Software Delivers the Current and Future State of ECM at 2011 OnBase Training & Technology Conference

Ninth annual think-tank for ECM innovation highlighted topics from mobile to intelligent capture for nearly 1,500 attendees

CLEVELAND - Enterprise content management (ECM) software is changing rapidly, as evidenced by Hyland Software's recent release of OnBase 11.0. With mobile solutions, intelligent capture and real-time data-level integrations with line-of-business applications, organizations need market insight to anticipate what's coming next. They also need to be empowered to use that insight through successful, sustainable ECM solutions. To nearly 1,500 customer and partner attendees, Hyland Software delivered thought leadership through ECM education and training at this year's U.S. OnBase Training & Technology Conference (OTTC) held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

"We firmly believe that our customers are most successful when they fully understand and truly 'own' their OnBase solution," said Bill Priemer, chief operating officer of Hyland Software. "We are committed to empowering them to be vendor independent and to utilize their own resources to manage, enhance and expand their solutions. Our annual OTTC conference is one of the many ways we deliver on that commitment."

Hot topics at the show included mobile-enabled ECM, new capture and indexing options and tighter line-of-business systems integrations. Another much discussed theme was how ECM can address specific business problems in industries like commercial, healthcare, higher education, government, insurance and financial services.

"Every time I attend OTTC, I come away with something that I want to deploy before the next OnBase users' conference," said Tim Oliver, Horry County South Carolina's assistant chief information officer. "This year it's the mobile and the E-commerce modules. Mobile is the way all of our departments are going to go and OnBase's mobile and E-commerce solutions directly address how we can tie our existing software applications in to the mobile devices our staff are already using."

This year marked the ninth annual OTTC conference, which has grown to become one of the largest gatherings of ECM professionals in the industry, attracting attendees from around the world. In addition to the US-based attendee organizations, Hyland welcomed 100 international OnBase users this year. Hyland also hosts OTTC conferences in Latin America, Europe and Australia.

Beyond OTTC, throughout the year Hyland offers a wide variety of training and networking opportunities including in-classroom training, instructor-led online education as well as self-paced courses for OnBase training and certification. The company also has extensive educational opportunities from self-paced lab environments to sharpen OnBase skills to a hands-on technical conference called TechQuest that's offered three times a year to develop and refine users' OnBase knowledge. Hyland also fosters a vibrant community of OnBase professionals through user groups and multiple online communities.

With a more than 50 percent increase in attendance over last year, the 2011 OTTC offered more than 185 classes and training sessions as well as 15 formal networking events and non-stop informal networking opportunities. Next year's OTTC will be held September 16-21 at The Gaylord Palms in Orlando, FL.
