Hydrostatic Fan Drives feature gear motor/pump design.

Press Release Summary:

Incorporating F Series pump and motor technology, Hydrostatic Fan Drives work in range of ambient temperatures from -40º to 212ºF. Units dissipate heat transferred by engine coolant as it flow through radiator. For moderate fan outputs of up to 20 kW, systems incorporating hydraulic fixed displacement pump with bypass control represent best solution. Applications include construction machines, agriculture and forestry vehicles, and road and rail vehicles.

Rexroth Hydrostatic Fan Drive System with Gear Motor/Pump Design Results in High Reliability and Efficiency

Rexroth Hydrostatic Fan Drive System

Rexroth's Hydrostatic Fan Drive provides maximum fan speed independent of the engine speed. It can be used in a variety of applications, thanks to the incorporation of Rexroth's new F series pump and motor technology.

(Bethlehem, PA - www.boschrexroth-us.com) The highly reliable Rexroth hydrostatic fan drive works in a wide range of ambient temperature conditions, from -40º F to 212º F (-40º C to +100º C). Incorporating the new Rexroth F series pump and motor technology, the Rexroth hydrostatic fan drives can be used in a variety of applications including construction machines, agriculture and forestry vehicles, and road and rail vehicles.

Hydrostatic fan drives dissipate heat transferred by engine coolant as it flows through the radiator. The radiator's cooling performance is determined by the fan size, pitch of blades and fan speed.

The controlled hydrostatic fan drive is superior to conventional mechanical and electrical systems in the following areas:

o High flexibility with regard to the layout of the entire fan system

o Fan runs only when required

o Maximum fan speed is not dependent on engine speed

o Engine temperature is precisely controlled

o Low hysteresis

o Minimal loss of hydraulic energy

o Gear motor offers compact design with integrated proportional control

o Robust gear motor/pump design results in high reliability and efficiency

For moderate fan outputs of up to 20kW, systems incorporating a hydraulic fixed displacement pump with bypass control represent the most economical solution. Fan speed automatically increases with an increase in engine temperature. The system automatically reverts to fail safe mode in the event of a control function failure, meaning it runs at maximum fan speed.
