Hydraulic Power Unit offers noise levels as low as 58-63 dB.

Press Release Summary:

Series 3520 offers flow rates from 13-249 lpm to suit single and multi-station test configurations. Noise reduction offered by optional acoustic attenuation system allows HPU to be positioned close to testing machine. With nominal operating pressures from 207-280 bar, series can operate at levels 10% above nominal full pressure to compensate for pressure loss between HPU and test stations. Fitted with PLC, unit provides system control, status feedback, and system interlocks.

Instron Introduces its 3520 Series of Hydraulic Power Units

Instron®, a leading provider of testing equipment designed to evaluate mechanical properties of materials and components, introduces its 3520 Series of hydraulic power units (HPUs). The new series offers unrivalled features, noise levels as low as 58-63 dB(A) and unsurpassed efficiency and low environmental impact.

Designed to meet every conceivable installation requirement, the 3520 Series of HPUs offers a wide range of flow rates from 13 liters/min to 249 liters/min; to suit single and multi-station test configurations. The noise reduction offered by the optional acoustic attenuation system allows for the HPU to be positioned close to the testing machine, eliminating the need for a separate pump room. Increased flow rate to oil tank volume ratios result in longer intervals between oil changes and because major serviceable components are outside the oil reservoir, servicing demands are reduced. Additionally, with nominal operating pressures ranging from 207 bar to 280 bar, the series can operate at levels 10-percent above nominal full pressure to compensate for pressure loss between the HPU and test stations.

Fitted with a programmable logic controller (PLC), the 3250 series provides superior system control, status feedback and a broad range of system interlocks, including oil level and temperature, filter condition and motor temperature.

HPU cooling is achieved either with water, using an oil plate heat exchanger coupled with a thermostatically controlled water flow valve minimizes water consumption, or through use of an optional air-blast cooling unit, which transfers heat directly into the ambient air, eliminating the need for cooling water.
