Hydraulic Fluids Containing Lubrizol Invert Emulsion, ADDCO® Polyglycol, and ADDCO® Water/Glycol Additive Technology Receive Fire-Resistance Approval

CLEVELAND, OH, September 15, 2006- The Lubrizol Corporation (NYSE:LZ) announced that FM Global, an internationally known standards-setting organization, has issued fire-resistance approval to 11 hydraulic fluids containing Lubrizol additives. Invert emulsion, non-aqueous polyglycol and water/glycol fluids were approved.

"We are very pleased to have all of these FM-approved products, especially since we are one of the first companies to receive approval for invert emulsions. Approval translates into tremendous benefits for our customers. First, it provides them confidence that the hydraulic fluids they offer to steel mills and other operations where fire resistance is an issue, are, indeed, fire resistant. In addition, customers enjoy significant time and cost savings by not having to put their fluids through the approval process," said Phil Miller, Global Compliance Manager.

"Customers requiring fire-resistant products now can look to Lubrizol for a broad range of solutions to meet their needs. In addition to fire resistance, our testing provides customers assurance that they can count on our approved products for excellent anti-wear, corrosion and oxidation performance," Miller continued.
