Hydraulic Drill is Powerful, Yet Portable

FARMINGTON HILLS, MICH. JUNE 27, 2002. Powerful new hydraulic drilling equipment from Anchor Lamina Inc. can make a 2-inch hole in seconds, yet is compact and portable enough to use on virtually any jobsite. Rugged and easy to operate, it requires far less maintenance than electric drilling equipment.

Lamina Portable Heavy Duty Drills are widely used in steel construction, mining, nuclear power plants, ship repair, and many other industries. Five drill heads are available, to drill or tap holes from 13/16" to 4". They provide torque ranging from 525 in. lbs. to 3,400 in. lbs., and can be changed in less than five minutes. A variety of quick-change tools makes the drill even more versatile.

The latest model introduces integrated electrical controls, a reel for the hydraulic hose, and a shorter maintenance cycle. It features a magnetic base that attaches to the drilling surface at virtually any angle, allowing drilling or tapping vertically or horizontally. A battery back-up is provided to maintain magnetic force should the primary power be interrupted. For large holes, the drill can be removed from the magnetic base and fixtured.

Lamina drills are built for continuous operation, even in the most difficult conditions (e.g., underwater). They meet applicable standards in North America and Europe, and some units have been in service for more than 30 years. Very little training is required, and convenient, handheld controls further simplify operation.
