Hydro-Tec(TM) Door Brings Low Maintenance/Long Life to Large Openings

(Elkhorn, WI) - Exterior door openings can present unique challenges and require unique solutions. To help address those opportunities, Wilson Doors Inc. have introduced the Hydro-Tec door, which combines years of Wilson aluminum door manufacturing with a simple, reliable hydraulic operating system.

"With our new door," says Wilson Doors President Scott Blue, "the user will appreciate its simplicity, reliability and minimal headroom requirements."

The Hydro-Tec is the industry's only single panel, hydraulic powered door manufactured out of aluminum. The door's lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum panel weighs 40% less than comparable steel single-panel doors.

Along with reducing wear and tear on moving parts, this lighter weight means the door can be operated with a lower maintenance, low pressure, hydraulic system. Once it's installed, the door doesn't require adjustment-it performs efficiently and effectively day-in, day-out, providing trouble-free operation. .

The door is very simple in its design. It has no cables, drive shafts, springs, limit switches or gearboxes. The door is easily raised and lowered using two hydraulic cylinders and either wall-mounted or optional remote push-button controls door operation. Once the door is down, the cylinders also pull the door tight and lock it in place. Standard top rubber seal, neoprene side seals and ground-hugging bottom loop seal provide an effective barrier against energy loss.

The motor, pump and reservoir that pressurize the cylinders ensure even and efficient lift. Because the door swings straight out and is perpendicular to the building when fully open, it requires very little headroom. Only six inches is needed, saving building height while offering unparalleled clearance.

Along with its utility, the Hydro-Tec door provides high aesthetics with its crisp, clean raw mill aluminum tubing construction. Others use painted steel which is prone to rusting and chipping. The bolt-together construction of the Hydro-Tec door frame requires no welding and saves valuable time and money with its quick and easy installation. The steel support frame is supplied with the door system.
Hydro-Tec is available in sizes up to 60 ft x 18 ft. Options include in panel service doors, radio control, window framing and battery back-up.

Founded in 1956, Wilson specializes in the design and made to order construction of quality, lightweight aluminum and economical steel vertical bi-fold doors, as well as large exterior sliding doors. The doors are used in a variety of facilities including industrial, commercial, agricultural, aviation and marine.
