MTS Sensors Introduces Family of Mobile Hydraulic Cylinder Position Sensors
Enhanced MH position sensor is first in new line of solutions...
LAS VEGAS - CONEXPO/IFPE Booth #S13731 (March 15, 2005) - Building on the success of its Temposonics® MH position sensor, MTS Sensors is introducing a comprehensive line of mobile hydraulic position sensors. Beginning with an enhanced version of the existing MH sensor, the M-Series sensors family will also include solutions designed for smaller diameter cylinders (>1.5 in. / 32mm), and a new sensor for applications requiring extended performance and features, such as programmable velocity outputs. The M-Series sensors family will allow a broader array of on- and off-highway machinery to capitalize on the increased reliability and reduction in service costs realized from the use of Temposonics linear-position sensors.

First in the family of mobile hydraulic position sensors, the MH sensor has been enhanced with a number of new features. Designed for 2 in. diameter (50mm) cylinders (or larger), the MH sensor now provides a measuring range of 2-78 in. (50-2000mm), doubling the available stroke length, while maintaining high levels of accuracy and repeatability.
The new MH sensor provides 3 position output options: 0-5V, 4-20mA, or PWM (16 recirculations). It also is available with a simultaneous velocity output for more precise closed loop control capability. The MH sensor operates from -40 to +105°C, and can be purchased with either individual wire or cable connection options that are compatible with typical Mobile Equipment electrical connector requirements.
The M-Series sensor family is designed for "embedded" application inside hydraulic cylinders creating minimal impact on the cylinder installed envelope. Unlike other technologies and products, the M-Series sensors are specifically designed and tested to the stringent shock, vibration and electromagnetic immunity specifications of the on- and off-highway machine industries. M-Series sensors meet ISO14982 Standards for Agricultural and Forest machines, ISO7637-0/1/2 Standards for road vehicles, and are CE Certified.
