Rexroth CDT1 Hydraulic Cylinder Offers Optimum Reliability for Variety of Applications

Cylinder Differential Tie rod provides increased performance while reducing downtime.

Benefits include a removable rod bearing, sealing system, secured air bleed and optional cushioning system.

The Industrial Hydraulics business unit of Bosch Rexroth Corporation offers a CDT1 Series NFPA hydraulic cylinder. With a nominal pressure up to 1,500 psi, a bore diameter from one inch to eight inches and a piston rod diameter from 1/2 inch to 5-1/2 inches, the CDT1 meets or exceeds JIC and NFPA standards.

The CDT1 also features 18 standard NFPA mountings, a stroke up to 120 degrees, and an SAE straight thread standard (ISO 11926-1) connection port, with other options available upon request. Hydraulic fluids include mineral oil, phosphate ester and water glycol. The cylinder can accommodate a fluid temperature range from -4 degrees F to 176 degrees F at a stroke velocity up to 20 in/s.

Technical advantages of the CDT1 include leak-free fluid connection ports provided by standard SAE O-ring straight thread ports, and reduced wear and long service life obtained by a one-piece, extra-long bearing made of ductile iron for tighter tolerances.

The cylinder's increased performance and decreased downtime are the result of its advanced wear-resistant sealing system. Studded rod ends come standard up to 1-3/8" diameter, and a case-hardened, chrome-plated piston rod with extended seal life means lower susceptibility to damage. High tensile steel tie rods with rolled threads add strength and corrosion resistance.

Accurate deceleration control of the CDT1 is also available with Rexroth's patented Exact-a-just(TM) ultra-sensitive cushioning. Piston/rod separation is eliminated by mechanically securing the piston to the piston rod. Likewise, precise centering of the tube to the head end cap eliminates seal extrusion and tube seal leakage. Finally, a patented, secured air-bleed is standard on both ends.

Bosch Rexroth Corporation, a merger of Bosch Automation Technology and Rexroth, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH. In the year 2003, Bosch Rexroth AG achieved sales of $4.4 billion (3.7 billion Euros) with 25,700 employees.
