Hydraulic Clamps hold thin-walled workpieces.

Press Release Summary:

Built-in locking pistons in threaded-body push clamps, block cylinders, and edge clamps allow floating clamping of workpieces with minimum deformation. Pistons provide light clamping force, but high support force, ensuring parts do not move when being machined. Plungers in cylinders have thin-walled section that expands under high pressure against inside of housing to lock plunger in place. Clamps operate at 7500 psi and provide clamping and supporting in one element.

Locking Pistons Allow Floating Clamping Of Thin-Walled Parts

Carr Lane Roemheld has introduced several new hydraulic clamps and cylinders with built-in locking pistons, which allow floating clamping of thin-walled workpieces with minimum deformation. The pistons provide light clamping force, but high support force, insuring parts do not move when being machined.

Locking pistons are now available in three products, including threaded-body push clamps, block cylinders and edge clamps. The plungers in the cylinders have a thin-walled section which expands under high pressure against the inside of the housing to lock the plunger in place. Single acting, with spring return, the new products operate at 7500 psi, and provide clamping and supporting in one element.
