Bobcat Expands Line of Hydraulic Breaker Attachments with HB280 and HB2380

WEST FARGO, N.D. - November 2007

Bobcat expands its line of hydraulic breaker attachments with the introduction of the HB280 and HB2380. The HB280 is a smaller version of current Bobcat® hydraulic breakers and the HB2380 is a larger model that brings the breaker line into the 1,000 ft-lb impact energy class.

Available for use only on the Bobcat 316 compact excavator, the HB280 is in the 60 ft-lb impact energy class and has a CIMA rating of 59 ft-lb. The HB280 weighs 127 lbs and provides 1,120 to 1,290 blows per minute through a hydraulic flow of 3.4 to 6.1 gallons per minute.

A smaller model of current Bobcat hydraulic breaker models, the HB280 offers many of the same features, including a spring clip for the retaining pin that protects the grease zerk. There is a go/no-go check tool, a hose guide and guard and a single tool bushing that can be quickly replaced in the field to reduce downtime. A nail point is standard and other tool options are available, including a blunt tool, cross-cut chisel and inline chisel.

The HB2380 is approved for use on Bobcat large-frame loaders and the 442 ZTS compact excavator. With a hydraulic flow range of 19.8 to 33 gallons per minute, the HB2380 provides 600 to 950 blows per minute and has a CIMA rating of 700 ft-lb. A nail point is standard on the HB2380. Other available tools include blunt tools, chisels and moil points.

Like the other Bobcat hydraulic breaker models, which are intended for concrete and general demolition work, the HB280 and the HB2380 have an internal design with few moving parts to reduce overall service time.

Another feature is auto power, an automatic pressure regulator that ensures maximum performance of the hydraulic breaker, regardless of tool carrier hydraulic flow variations or changes in outdoor temperature. This means that each hydraulic breaker attachment delivers a high performance impact blow within a vast flow range of carriers. The auto power feature also limits excessive pressure at start-up. As a result, the energy chamber diaphragm is protected, allowing for longer service life.

The energy chamber diaphragm gives Bobcat hydraulic breakers a distinct advantage by allowing the nitrogen pressure to remain constant, so the breaker performance remains constant. No periodic recharging is required, thus the breaker is virtually maintenance-free and operational as soon as it's mounted to the carrier.

Bobcat hydraulic breakers are easy to mount with Bob-Tach(TM), X-Change® and pin-on attachment mounting systems.
