New BlueShield from DeWAL Industries for HVOF Masking
BlueShield is DeWAL’s New HVOF masking compound. It is a single step compound designed for complex or difficult masking jobs. BlueShield is shaped and molded to cover odd-shaped areas and close off and protect areas which should not be treated.
BlueShield is molded onto parts for protection from HVOF and plasma spray. It is a single step application process. The masked part then undergoes a curing cycle to strengthen and harden the BlueShield. It offers the impermeability of hard tooling with the precision of hand masking.
The heat curing cycle is about 25 minutes or slightly longer for large parts. The process, at 250°F, results in a resilient shield ready for coating. BlueShield will hold up under extreme HVOF and plasma spray operations. It is tough and abrasion resistant.
The cured BlueShield is similar to hard rubber and can be peeled away at completion.
