Specialty Closures Conference in Thailand and Beverage Packaging Conference in Morocco ensure the 2014 Husky World Tour ends on a high note

BOLTON, Ontario – Husky Injection Molding Systems wrapped up its 2014 Husky World Tour with two events in November – a Specialty Closures Conference in Bangkok, Thailand and a Beverage Packaging Conference in Casablanca, Morocco. Both events were well attended, with 70 customers from South-East Asia attending the Specialty Closures event in Bangkok, and over 50 customers attending the Beverage Packaging event in Casablanca. Both events featured insightful presentations, engaging discussions, and the opportunity to network with industry experts.

The Specialty Closures Conference in Bangkok highlighted Husky's scalable, flexible specialty closure solutions, and offered presentations from Husky, Sch̦ttli, and industry experts, including Craig Wellman from Wellman Packaging Australia, Hughes Hebert from MMC Packaging, and Mark Thomson from Keller Heckman LLP. Topics of interest included Planning for automation in part design Рimproving part quality and uptime; Packaging trends and specialty closures; and Food industry regulations and the impact on closure part design.

"These events are always a great opportunity to provide an intimate experience for our customers; giving us a chance to really connect with them and not only share our insights, but learn about their challenges and innovations," said Henry Zhang, Director, Business Development for Medical Specialty Packaging at Husky.

The Beverage Packaging Conference in Casablanca looked at industry trends and provided insights on how Husky solutions reduce variability, improve part quality and increase productivity in the beverage packaging industry. Presentations included Latest innovations in PET packaging, from Bertrand Cottard, Business Development Manager – Blowing and Packaging, Sidel Group; Revolutionary technology developments in PET Preform Manufacturing from Aurelien Bastien, Director PET System and Tooling EMEA & SAARC, Husky; and Market trends in Beverage Packaging from Thomas Lanher, Market Manager MEA, Husky. Customers were also introduced to Husky's new PET multi-layer barrier solution. The barrier module offers manufacturers new possibilities to explore multi-layer solutions and engineered packaging for beverages, sauces, and other food products.

"This event demonstrated our commitment to the growth of our customers in North and West Africa. It allowed us to share our understanding of the local business as we have and will continue to invest in our support and service capabilities," said Wassim Labban, Vice President South East Europe, Middle East, Africa and SAARC for Husky. "Our audience for this event came from more than 7 different countries in Africa and Europe, highlighting the increasing importance of both emerging African companies and mature European ones to find a common platform of collaborative opportunities. Husky, with our extensive network and local presence, is working hard to find these sorts of opportunities, providing a real value to our customers in both emerging and developed markets."

To both audiences, Husky also presented its comprehensive range of Aftermarket products and services that help customers improve product quality, reduce variability and increase efficiency, including SHOTSCOPE™ NX, Husky's integrated process and production monitoring system.

The Husky World Tour 2014 was a series of global customer events taking place throughout the year, in various locations across the globe. With multiple events spanning multiple locations, the tour gave both current and prospective customers opportunities for more direct access to Husky's latest technologies at a local level, while providing targeted solutions to help customers reduce variability, improve part cost and increase productivity.
