Husky Introduces UltraHelix Valve Gates and Highlights Altanium Servo Control at NPE 2015

BOLTON, Ontario – Husky Injection Molding Systems today announced that at NPE 2015 (March 23 – 27, Orlando, Florida) it will be showcasing its latest hot runner and controller technologies, which were developed based on extensive conversations with customers about their business goals. The display at NPE, located at Booth #2117 in the West Hall, will show customers how they can confidently leverage Husky's innovative technology, global capabilities, and expertise to achieve better business performance.

Husky is launching two exciting new products at NPE.  The first is the UltraHelix™ Valve Gate, which molds better parts and provides the lowest total cost of ownership when compared to any other valve gate. Husky conducted extensive research to deeply understand the fundamentals of valve gate dynamics, wear, and gate quality before developing the UltraHelix. Coming as close as possible to zero gate vestige performance, the UltraHelix valve gate dramatically reduces molders' cost of quality, continues to build on Husky's track record of industry-leading thermal uniformity, and virtually eliminates mechanical wear on the valve stems and cavity steel.

"NPE is always a great opportunity for us to showcase our most innovative new technologies, in a more personal, engaging setting. I am especially excited to introduce our UltraHelix Valve Gate," said Gerardo Chiaia, Husky's President of Hot Runners. "It's a remarkable product that incorporates many ideas that our customers have shared with us, and when combined with UltraSync-Electric actuation, it performs at a level that will really astonish the industry. Customers can invest once and mold worry-free, perfect parts for millions of cycles."

The full range of ALTANIUM® controllers will also be on display, including new and improved interfaces and control functionality in each product line, as well as the brand new ALTANIUM Servo Control that enables servo motors to replace mold pneumatics or hydraulics. Molds that use servos achieve qualification faster and have better repeatability and reliability, which is ideal for applications where process traceability is critical. Process set-up and adjustment for the servos is dramatically simpler with Altanium than with typical servo control solutions, making it practical for a process engineer to set up instead of relying on a software programmer. ALTANIUM is a complete solution for implementing mold servos and also includes the industry's most accurate hot runner temperature and valve gate control in a single, easy to use unit.

Husky will also be displaying new options for Ultra SideGate™and its UNIFY™ pre-assembled manifold system.  UNIFY makes installation into the mold an easy, one-step process that doesn't require pre-heating of the manifold. Ideal for automotive and household goods, UNIFY is available with a variety of Husky nozzles and features its patented UltraSeal® leak-proof technology.

Offering a whole new experience for Husky customers, the display at NPE 2015 will focus on providing visitors a more intimate opportunity to engage with Husky solutions and representatives. Husky's goal is to be the industry's first choice for melt delivery systems, and therefore the company adopts a scientific approach to reducing sources of waste and variability in the injection molding process. This approach to innovation has ensured Husky's hot runners are the most thermally uniform in the industry, and its products and services solve key injection molding challenges in areas such as gate quality and ease of use.
