Bolton, Ontario – Husky Injection Molding Systems, a leading industrial technology provider to the plastics processing community, successfully kicked off its participation at Djazagro 2019 in Algiers, Algeria with a booth highlighting its range of innovative solutions for a variety of markets. As the world’s most trusted partner for consumer packaging solutions, Husky’s booth (CT G106, Pavillon Central) is showcasing its breakthrough technologies that push the boundaries of beverage, food, home, beauty and personal care packaging. Exhibiting for the first time at Djazagro, Husky’s space is dedicated to showcasing its injection molding solutions that help to optimize the complete package, including closures.
“North Africa is a growing region, and Husky is committed to supporting both new and existing customers here, so it is very exciting to be exhibiting in Algeria for the first time,” said Wassim Labban, Husky’s Vice President of Rigid Packaging for the Middle East and Africa. “Our extensive global footprint allows us to really understand regional market trends and enables us to provide responsive local service and support to our customers.”
At the Husky booth, visitors can see groundbreaking package designs with never-before-seen colors, shapes and functionalities. A highlight of the Husky exhibition is the company’s revolutionary Multi-Layer Technology, which enables more sustainable, attractive and cost-effective packaging. Husky’s Multi-Layer Technology is an integrated solution for packaging applications that offers more flexible material properties for enhanced design and performance, allowing customers to consider more attractive packaging options over alternative materials, such as metal cans, cartons, glass and high-density polyethylene (HDPE).
“Our vast range of innovative injection molding solutions and the wealth of expertise in our Rigid Packaging business enable us to be an integral partner to customers in this region,” said Robert Domodossola, Husky’s President of Rigid Packaging. “Our goal is to understand market trends and adapt our technologies to suit those trends, while helping our customers be more competitive in satisfying consumers’ continually changing preferences. Our push to develop innovative, integrated manufacturing solutions allows us to support our customers’ growth initiatives, and we look forward to doing more of that here in North Africa.”
Committed to a regular cadence of innovation, the organization is regularly improving its manufacturing models, application development and product offerings. Husky is continuing to refine its proven, integrated solutions to ensure all platforms are working together to deliver smarter, more intuitive, more productive systems that reduce energy consumption while increasing customer value, competitiveness and flexibility on multiple levels. Recent developments in application design include a focus on closures. One example is an optimized 26 mm CSD closure to accommodate a shift in the industry from 1881 to 26/22 neck finishes. As well, as part of Husky’s ongoing sustainability efforts, the company has developed innovative tethered closure designs to satisfy new legislation around recyclability in certain regions.
Also showcased at the Husky booth is the company’s tooling technologies and services, which deliver optimized product equipment productivity and extended mold life. The exhibit also highlights Husky’s industry-leading OEM spare parts and service offerings, detailing how the company can help customers to optimize production and reduce total part costs.
